Chapter III: Roman Decision
Publius Crassus, the son of the wealthiest man in Rome, triumvir Marcus Crassus, is sent with 12 cohorts and a large body of cavalry to subdue the region of Aquitania. The Aquitani tribes were culturally distinct from the Celts or Belgae. During his march south, the young Crassus directed his expedition into the territory of the powerful Sotiates tribe.
